Job Description:
The primary responsibility of a Window and Door Service Technician Helper is to assist in the installation and maintenance of windows and doors, providing support to more experienced technicians. This includes handling materials, ensuring safety, and learning the technical skills required for installation and repair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting Technicians:
- Aid lead technicians in the installation, repair, and replacement of windows and doors.
- Handle tools and equipment as directed by senior technicians.
- Help with lifting and positioning doors and windows during installation.
- Material Handling:
- Transport windows, doors, and other materials to and from job sites.
- Maintain inventory and ensure the proper storage of materials.
- Customer Service:
- Greet and interact with customers in a professional manner.
- Assist in ensuring the customer’s property is respected and left clean after service.
- Safety and Cleanliness:
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures on the job site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including job sites and the service vehicle.
- Learning and Development:
- Continuously develop knowledge of window and door types, installation techniques, and repair methods.
- Assist in diagnosing issues and troubleshooting under the supervision of experienced technicians.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained and ready for use.
- Assist with minor repairs to tools or equipment as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Basic tool knowledge and a willingness to learn more advanced techniques.
- Customer service skills, as you may interact with homeowners or business owners.
- Ability to follow safety protocols on job sites.
- Reliable transportation to get to different job sites in the Dallas area.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- No prior experience necessary, though some experience in construction or general labor is a plus.
- On-the-job training is often provided.
Pay and Benefits
