Make Your Impact

RAM Windows is entering a new phase of national growth — and we’re looking for a Controller who can build the financial backbone to support that expansion. This is a highly visible role with a direct line to the President, collaboration with private equity ownership, and day-to-day influence over how we invest, hire, price, and scale. You’ll have the authority to improve what’s outdated, implement better tools, and provide the financial clarity required for growth.

About RAM Windows & Doors

RAM Windows & Doors is a Texas-based manufacturer and distributor of high-end residential and commercial windows and doors. Founded in 1978, RAM has built a reputation for custom-engineered solutions, exceptional product quality, and long-term customer partnerships. With showrooms in Houston, Austin, and Dallas — and a dedicated manufacturing facility in Houston — we serve builders, architects, and homeowners across the state.

Backed by private equity, RAM is focused on operational excellence, product expansion, and preparing the company for national growth. This Controller role is central to building the financial structure to make that happen.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for both the tactical and strategic sides of finance. You’ll lead core accounting operations while also upgrading systems, improving reporting, and advising on business decisions. You’ll be a key partner to the President and a direct contributor to how we scale across new markets.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Controls

  • Lead the month-end close process, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, inventory roll-forwards, and job profitability reviews
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Supervise AR/AP processes, including invoicing, collections, credit approvals, and vendor payments

Reporting & Financial Analysis

  • Deliver accurate financial statements and reporting packages to leadership and ownership
  • Analyze trends, variances, and cost drivers across departments; translate findings into clear action plans
  • Redesign internal reports and KPIs in collaboration with operations and leadership

Cash Flow & Capital Management

  • Monitor cash position and manage short-term liquidity
  • Forecast cash flow needs and oversee use of credit facilities

Costing, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead job costing and customer-level profitability analysis
  • Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support pricing, hiring, and investment decisions
  • Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities across COGS and SG&A

Team & Systems Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a small accounting team; set goals and lead performance reviews
  • Own accounting systems and reporting structure; ensure clean, scalable financial processes
  • Lead process improvement initiatives tied to automation, efficiency, and readiness for scale

What You Bring

  • 8–15 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
  • Experience owning month-end close, reporting, forecasting, and team leadership
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, cash flow management, and internal controls
  • Advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, lookups, modeling); familiarity with reporting tools or ERP systems
  • Background in manufacturing, construction, or other job-costed environments
  • Experience working with private equity ownership or in a performance-driven, growth-stage company preferred
  • Clear communicator who can translate financials into business decisions
  • CPA strongly preferred

Why This Role

This isn’t a back-office Controller job — it’s a leadership seat with operational and strategic impact.

  • Direct line to the President, high visibility with private equity ownership
  • Authority to fix what’s broken and build what’s missing
  • Your work will influence pricing, hiring, capacity planning, and expansion strategy
  • You’ll help prepare the business for multi-market growth while improving internal systems and processes
  • You’ll be more than a financial gatekeeper — you’ll be a business partner
