Job Overview:

As the Inventory Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting the company’s production, quality, and logistics functions by overseeing inventory operations and ensuring optimal efficiency and accuracy. Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager, this role involves direct supervision of inventory-related activities such as receiving, stocking, and production supply. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Production, and Quality, to ensure inventory management processes align with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily inventory operations, including receiving, stocking, picking, and delivering materials to production areas.
  • Maintain accurate organization and stocking of inventory, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support material planning and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Support the setup and maintenance of warehouse layout to optimize space and improve material flow.
  • Train and assist team members in understanding inventory processes, including material utilization and bill of materials comprehension.
  • Implement and monitor inventory cycle count programs to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Address issues with incoming materials, including packaging problems, and communicate with suppliers when necessary.
  • Generate and maintain inventory reports to provide visibility to stakeholders on inventory and shipping statuses.
  • Support the Inventory Control Manager in developing and implementing inventory replenishment plans to meet production demands.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance warehouse operations and inventory control.
  • Lead and coach team members, ensuring cross-training and development among job functions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in inventory management or related fields within a manufacturing organization.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to guide and motivate a team effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in data analysis and forecasting techniques.
  • APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or LEAN/Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, or a related field is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle materials, reach with arms, and communicate effectively.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
